From elegant streets to lively thoroughfares, this walk explores the changing character of the West End.
Starting in Mayfair, we’ll walk along Piccadilly past historic highlights and cultural landmarks before reaching Savile Row, known for its craftsmanship. We’ll then head into Soho, where a maze of lively streets, musical heritage and independent shops captures the area’s distinctive energy, giving us plenty to talk about.
As we explore, you’ll pick up useful everyday English inspired by the places around us and use it in real conversation.
This tour is ideal for building confidence in English, meeting other learners and exploring London beyond the usual tourist trail.

What is a London language immersion tour?
YLT’s English language immersion tours are interactive, conversation-focused guided walks through some of London’s most interesting neighbourhoods. With our founder, Phil, by your side, you’ll practise English in real-life situations while enjoying a more personal introduction to the city.
What level of English do I need?
Our tours are best suited to intermediate learners and above. If you’re unsure whether a tour is right for your level, contact us at contact@yourlondontutor.com, and we’ll be happy to advise.
How is this different from a normal guided tour?
A standard tour tells you about London, but ours gets you talking about it. Each stop is designed to spark conversation, develop your English, and give you genuine opportunities to practise in real-life situations.
How much input do I have in the itinerary?
For group tours, the itinerary is fixed, but your trainer adapts the conversation and language to suit the group and the tour. For private tours, you can read about our One-to-One Language Immersion tours here.
Will I be with a qualified English trainer throughout?
Yes. Every tour is led by Phil, a Londoner and award-winning English language trainer with over 25 years of experience teaching English.
Where do tours start and finish?
Tours begin at a central London landmark and finish nearby. Exact meeting points and timings are confirmed when you book.
How much walking is involved?
Our tours are walking-based, so a reasonable level of mobility is helpful. If you have specific access or mobility needs, let us know when you book, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. You can also contact us at contact@yourlondontutor.com.
What happens if it rains?
London’s weather is unpredictable, so we plan accordingly. Tours run in light rain, and your trainer will use covered or indoor locations where possible. In severe weather, we’ll contact you to reschedule.
Can I book more than one tour?
Yes. Many guests choose to book more than one tour, as each experience explores different parts of the city and offers fresh opportunities to practise English and meet new people.
Are tickets refundable?
