The South Bank is one of London’s liveliest areas. On this walk, we’ll follow the River Thames, passing famous landmarks and striking architecture, all while enjoying relaxed, natural conversations in English.
We’ll begin near Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, then cross Westminster Bridge and continue along the river, taking in major sights, cultural highlights and surprising details along the way. As we explore, you’ll learn useful everyday English inspired by what we see and use it in real conversation.

What is an English immersion tour in London?
YLT’s Explore London: English Immersion Tours are interactive, conversation-focused guided walks through some of the city’s most fascinating neighbourhoods. With our founder, Phil, by your side, you’ll practise English in real London settings while enjoying a more personal introduction to the city.

What level of English do I need?
Our tours are designed for people learning English as a second language who want to use it more confidently in real life. You might be a visitor, an international resident, a student, or a professional. Our tours are best suited to intermediate learners and above. How is this different from a normal guided tour?
A standard tour tells you about London, but ours gets you talking about it. Each stop is designed to spark conversation, develop your English, and give you genuine opportunities to practise in real-life situations.
How much input do I have in the itinerary?
For group immersion tours, the itinerary is fixed, but your trainer adapts the conversation and language to suit the group and the tour. For private immersion tours, check out our Explore London: Private English Immersion experiences.
Will I be with a qualified English trainer throughout?
Yes. Every tour is led by Phil, a Londoner and award-winning English language trainer with over 25 years of experience teaching English.
Where do tours start and finish?

How much walking is involved?
Our tours are walking-based, so a reasonable level of mobility is helpful. If you have specific access or mobility needs, let us know when you book, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. You can also contact us at contact@yourlondontutor.com.
What happens if it rains?
London’s weather is unpredictable, so we plan accordingly. Tours run in light rain, and your trainer will use covered or indoor locations where possible. In severe weather, we’ll contact you to reschedule.
Can I book more than one tour?
Yes. Many guests choose to book more than one tour, as each experience explores different parts of the city and offers fresh opportunities to practise English and meet new people.
Are tickets refundable?
